Z1 Flow Meter Installation Guide

Installation Steps:

1. Check the label on your SimpleSUB
 

2. Feed zip ties through portals on the bottom of the SimpleSUB
 

3. Clean any debris or buildup from your pipe. (For copper pipes, the included sandpaper may be used to remove dried paint or cement from the pipe surface gently. For all other pipe materials, use a clean cloth to remove debris and do not use sandpaper.)
 

4. Place SimpleSUB with flow direction and affix zip ties to the pipe and tighten by hand. Then, use the included tensioning tool to tighten further on the pipe
 

5. Activate the meter by pressing and holding the Play button, and confirm 2 Green LED lights 
 

Meter Indicators

• The LED may appear red or green
• The meter uses LED lights to indicate status during installation, setup, and troubleshooting.
• The meter does include a Water Detection LED and a Connectivity LED, as shown in the device diagram above. These LEDs indicate water detection and connection status on the meter. However, the meter does not display troubleshooting symbols such as water-droplet icons or multiple-droplet icons as physical symbols on the device.

• After setup is complete, the lights may turn off to conserve battery life. The meter does not keep the green lights illuminated while actively reading water usage.

6. Confirm the status of installed SimpleSUBs on the web app
 

Note: Log in to the SimpleSUB Water Web App to confirm the meters are reporting correctly.

• If a meter has not completed its first daily check-in, its status will display Installation Check in Progress. 
• After the first successful daily check-in, the status will display Active. 
• A green water drop icon indicates the meter is reporting normally. 
• Usage data will not appear until approximately 24 hours after installation.

Troubleshooting
 

Note:

• Only the LED behaviors explicitly described in this guide should be used to interpret meter status. If a light pattern is not defined here, don't hesitate to contact support for clarification.
• During installation and normal operation, the meter connects to the cellular network through the nearest cell tower. SimpleSUB meters do not connect to the internet through Wi-Fi.
